I am very much neutral colour kind of person and gray is high on my priority list. I never liked purple , do not own any piece of clothing in that shade but I must admit there images talk to me. Maybe it is time to embrace colour. Purple.
Hi. I use purple (specifically lavender) a lot in my design work. It is a great alternative for blues or grays, just a little more punch and style. A little goes along way though. Loved this post. Thank you.

I've never been a big purple person either but Veranda captivated me this month. I'm thinking Purple becomes bigger this Spring...
ReplyDeleteHi Viera...great post..Love image No 2 and 6...gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteI agree - maybe it's time to start using this colour. Love all these images! Leigh
ReplyDeleteI think purple and lavender are the prefect accent colours for grey and charcoal. The fact that aubergine was so over used in the early to mid 90's has put people off for a while. Hello again purple!
ReplyDeleteHappy lila day :-)
ReplyDeleteThat purple ceiling is gorgeous!

Hi Viera
ReplyDeleteWell I think I have always liked purple but I have never used it in decor... but you know something I've just discovered looking at these images... that greyish/purple looks fantastic with silver!! Lovely images... xxx Julie
Funny you write this, I am giving purple some consideration lately after using it sparingly. I like all of the images you chose, encouraging!
ReplyDelete* There were some VERY luscious "heart-stoppers" shown here, for sure, but the FIRST PIC just "DID IT" for me!!! Absolutely, incredibly, ideally BEAUUUUTIFUL... and so soffffttt!!!
ReplyDeleteI really SPLURGED (w/ a great, big "S"!) when we moved into our then-new home (almost 5 years ago now) & had 6 custom pillows made, two of which were/are T*H*E most magnificent lavendar suede, & had them piped w/ leather basketweave (uh-huh! Really!)... I was sooooo NERVOUS about that/the OUTCOME... but, I wasted my valuable time~~~ they're STILL two of my FAVORITE PILLOWS ever.... oooooh, the "yummmmmminess" of that oolor!!!
To those who are "fearful", please, please "Just do it!"~~~ you may find yourself MORE than pleasantly surprised! (I know I did, but the real shocker was that the hubs actually liked them (ALOT!) too!~~~
Thanks~ such WONNNNDERFUL pics here!!!
Blessings,

I've always loved purple! My old livingroom was a light purple, and people never noticed it was purple until we asked them. So it's most definitely a neutral! (a fabulous one, that is!)
ReplyDeleteI love the rooms you chose!!!
I love all the single flower floral arrangements! Not contrived in any fashion!
ReplyDeleteI too am not really a fan of purple. But in these pictures and seeing these shades....it's so quaint. I like it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fab start to the year Viera - this is one of my very favourite VT posts! A belated Happy New Year to you, sounds like it will be an exciting one.

That John Saladino space is one of my absolute favorites of all time! My home office walls are the same color and this summer when I change the arrangment in here a bit I'm planning on using that color scheme for inspiration!
ReplyDeleteLove the purple!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know of a good source for lavender or a periwinkle linen? I am dying to use the color but can't source it!!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Viera!
ReplyDeleteYour post sucked me right in with the Saladino image!
the colour works so well with neutrals. I for one am starting to get hungry for colour again!

I adore purple! Certain hues of it can be a fantastic neutral palette. Love the spread!
ReplyDeleteI love purple too and will definitely be using in our fabric range this year.
