Inspirational Designer

Kate Hume is a designer and stylist from Holland renowned for her extraordinary glass vases, and her partnership in the design company Birdman Furniture. Her interior projects for international clients are simple and luxurious while celebrating Kate's signature eclectic style and use of colour .

I absolutely love what she did with this 17 century country house in South West of France.( And I must say I am quite conservative person -loving classical style in classical house) She beautifully maximized space and light and used contemporary furniture from Birdman ( unfortunately not represented in Australia as far as I know), mixed with vintage finds to create a relaxed holiday atmosphere for year-round entertaining.

Love that pendant light (it was featured in Domino this month) and those fantastic modern trestle/picnic tables:)

The tables in the kitchen have very interesting leg designs. Like you, I tend towards the more classical, but a splash of very modern, if it looks well-made, works wonders.

what a truly exquisite transformation.
I am also a more classical kind of designer, but I can always appreciate great design.

Would you know where/what/how about the gorgeous wood-grained water jug and mugs on the blond wood dining table? I've coveted them since they appeared in a magazine years ago.
